Every year, the area of ​​cinnamon is newly planted and planted in the exploited area from 1,800 ha to 2,000 ha/year (mainly replanted after exploitation). Cinnamon bark and essential oil are produced and consumed according to the orders of domestic and foreign customers. Domestic market such as: Bac Giang province, Hanoi city. Export markets to countries such as: Taiwan, China, Korea, Japan, India, Bangladesh, Egypt, S.Here, cinnamon trees planted from 4-6 years old begin to be exploited and thinned. There are 2 harvests per year, the March crop and the August crop.
 
According to the experience of the Dao people, these are the two times when cinnamon is easy to peel, convenient for exploitation, transportation and preservation.
 
This year cinnamon is priced, each 1kg of dried cinnamon bark costs from 60,000-70,000 VND. Any household that exploits a little can get a few hundred million dong, a household that exploits a few billion dong/1 time exploits.
 
Thanks to that, many households in Van Yen district have become millionaires.
 
Every year, Van Yen district exports to the market about 6,000 tons of dried cinnamon bark, the output of cinnamon leaves is about 63,000 tons/year, the output of essential oils is about 300 tons/year, the output of cinnamon wood is nearly 51,000 m3/year.
 
Many Dao households earn hundreds of millions of dong per year from growing cinnamon, thousands of families have a stable life and become rich thanks to cinnamon trees.
 
The revenue from cinnamon trees brings Van Yen people over 700 billion VND each year. Contributing to promoting socio-economic development, creating momentum for the implementation of the National Target Program on building new rural areas for the period 2010-2020.
 
Especially, since cinnamon products are encouraged and supported to build brands and brands for cinnamon products in association with the implementation of the Program One Commune One Product (OCOP) in the locality, cinnamon trees have become more and more popular. value here. Along with that is the construction and development of value chains associated with production and consumption of products from cinnamon; advise, support, attract and encourage enterprises to participate in deep processing of cinnamon products qualified for direct export.
